Matthew Crosby: AdventureParty

An Event of Some Kind XI is set to be an absolute corker.

In a crazy, unhinged move, we’ve tweaked the format slightly and are offering you not only the usual mix of comedy and music and snacks and booze and competitions, but a FULL EDINBURGH COMEDY PREVIEW from tremendous and hilarious guy Matthew Crosby. Here’s a description:

Matthew Crosby: AdventureParty

Matthew Crosby, the short one with the glasses from sketch favourites, Pappy’s (if.comedy award nominees, Chortle award winners), presents his debut solo show: AdventureParty. Is it an adventure? Is it a party? Is it neither? Come find out.

Matthew has written for and performed in a number of TV and radio shows including The Now Show (R4), The Kevin Bishop Show, Robert’s Web (Ch4), Ask Rhod Gilbert (BBC1) and The King Is Dead (BBC3).

“Intriguingly Matthew Crosby from Bromley is also a comedian.” What’s On In Kent

Here’s Mr Crosby as part of Pappy’s:

But that’s not the half of it. Oh no.

We’ve also got wunderkind musician, azure hairstyler and youtube hero Tom Milsom, aka Hexachordal, who will be regaling us with tunes and banter.

And then there’s The Behemoth. That’s the massive sketch troupe consisting of one man and one woman of average size. That man and woman are John-Luke Roberts and Nadia Kamil, doing amazing and hugelarious doubleactology.

Do not, under any circumstances, forget that Richard Sandling is going to rock our heads off amusing-style with music and vocals and a bloody good sense of humour.

As if that weren’t enough, the whole shebang is compered by me: my good self.

DJ Citizen Smith will bring his laptop full of musics and intros, Bernie will man the soundboards, and Hannah will act as the veritable gatekeeper (providing you with entry if you have a ticket/sufficient money).

It all happens according to these details:

When: 8pm, Friday June 10, 2011

Where: The Cavendish Arms, 128 Hartington Road, Stockwell, SW8 2HJ, London

Tube: Stockwell

Tickets: £7 – available on the door.
