Get your feet off there: Tim Minchin sits on a chair

I may not have mentioned it on here, but I’m the 2012-13 Writer In Residence for ace literary festival Warwick Words. As a fundraising event for said festival, I’m doing a live interview with funny musicman Tim Minchin on Feb 20. Details below – they’re taking box office bookings now, and I think online stuff from next week, thanks to snow sending everyone home. That’s if there’s tickets left by then. Fun.

[Update: apparently the box office is closed today due to icy precipitation. Tix should be available early next week. I’ll let ya know.]

[Update update: Tickets now online! Book here: http://bridgehousetheatre.co.uk/diary/an-evening-with-tim-minchin]

[UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: this is now SOLD OUT. See you there.]

An Evening with Tim Minchin
in conversation with H Anthony Hildebrand
Wednesday 20 February at 8.00pm
Guy Nelson Hall, Warwick School
Renowned comedian, musician, actor and songwriter of the hit stage show Matilda the Musical, Tim Minchin, comes to Warwick for an exclusive and revealing evening of conversation and music.

Tim who reprises his role as Judas in Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s arena rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar this year – has wowed audiences and received acres of critical acclaim worldwide for his exciting and intelligent musical comedy over the past eight years. Matilda the Musical opens on Broadway in April. Minchin is currently appearing in the US TV show Californication alongside David Duchovny.

Minchin will be joined in conversation by H Anthony Hildebrand, Warwick Words 2012-13 Writer In Residence. The two have been pals since university, so expect plenty of lively chat and never before heard insights into the pre-fame Tim – as well as a few songs.

Topics up for discussion include Tim’s writing techniques, adapting Roald Dahl’s Matilda for the stage, his literary heroes, and his future career plans.
